Hammies?What are Hammies?
Hammies™ are Hum & Ham's update to the "gauze towel" (가재 수건) baby cloths used by every parent in Korea with beautiful and playful patterns by Hum & Ham and that have been specifically designed for the modern American parent. They look and function similar to a fine wash cloth, handkerchief, petite tea towel, or thin cloth napkin. In many parts of Asia, these thin but durable cotton baby cloths are in every nursery and diaper bag and are as essential in baby care as diapers and bottles; literally 100% of parents use them in Korea. They are naturally environmentally-conscious because they are multi-purpose and reusable, and convenient because they can be thrown in any laundry load. Unknown and unavailable stateside, Korean-Americans and Koreans living in the U.S. previously relied on friends and family in Korea to send these useful baby cloths to them ... until now. Hum & Ham introduces modern American parents to the versatile, convenient, and eco-friendly cotton baby cloths that mothers in Asia have been using for years ... and simply calls them Hammies. How do you use Hammies? Hammies are for everything! From preventing runaway milk in babies' necks, absorbing spit up, and as gentle wash cloths, to wiping bottles and pacifiers and messy faces on the go, to being loosely draped around babies' necks for an easy bib or cute scarf. Throw one over your shoulder for a light-weight burp cloth (Farewell, thick cloth diaper!). You can stick damp ones in the freezer to help soothe a teething child, wrap your child in wet ones to help bring down fevers, or let babies strain fruit through them when eating solids for the first time. Use Hammies to wipe and wrap dirty spoons before sticking them in your diaper bag. Hammies take the place of napkins, paper towels, tissues, or even kitchen towels. We've also used them to help kids hold sticky lollipop sticks, in lieu of wet wipes (just add water), and even heard that a little girl used one as a pretty sling for an injured wrist. Hammies are for everyone! We also use them for non-babies: as a reusable napkin at home and in lunch boxes, or a waste-free alternative to disposable paper towels (great for wiping spills on kitchen counters or to dry dishes/fruits/vegetables). Use it as a dinner napkin, tea towel, tissue, or simply as a classic handkerchief. Hammies are a gentle face cloth for mom (perfect for removing oil-based cleansers or cold cream). Carry one in your purse or pocket to dry hands after washing in public bathrooms. The possibilities are endless. *** If you discover unusual or clever ways to use your Hammies, please contact us! *** How do you wash Hammies? Hammies are super low maintenance. They are so thin and yet resilient, you can toss them in with any laundry load and throw in as many as you like. Made of 100% cotton, Hammies soften with every wash. Some of our customers just rinse them in the sink after use and hang them on a towel rack (they dry really quickly) for consecutive uses. Official care instructions: Wash before first use. Machine wash warm with like colors. Use non-chlorinated bleach only as needed. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Warm iron if desired. Where are Hammies made? Hammies are designed, finished, and packaged in Los Angeles, California. Hum & Ham sets quality specifications at every step of production in South Korea (from weaving of the fabric, printing, finishing, all the way to cutting and sewing) to ensure that Hammies are made responsibly, with care, and according to Hum & Ham's standards. |
